Notes for DISC Blu-safe®

Using DISC Blu-safe® on 32 Bit Operating Systems

The separate DISC Blu-safe® software package must be installed and configured. The device

will then be detected after selecting Detect in the Device Configuration Page of the PoINT

Storage Manager Setup Dialog.

Using DISC Blu-safe® on 64 Bit Operating Systems

The USB to Serial driver which ships with the device must be installed and configured. Once

the new virtual COM port has been created, it is necessary to modify the following registry

values before the device can be detected by PoINT Storage Manager.

Value Type: DWORD

Value Name: SerDetectIds

Value Contents: 1

Value Type: DWORD

Value Name: SerDetectPorts

Value Contents: <port> (COM1: 1, COM2: 2, COM3: 4, COM4: 8, COM5: 16, ...)

Both values usually exist and are initially set to 0. If they do not exist, please create the

values.

After setting the values select Detect button in the Device Configuration Page of the PoINT

Storage Manager Setup Dialog.
